Structure multi-timbral patch question
Hi,
I'm trying to make a Structure patch for Tony from a really great kit
he recorded at Stagg Street Studios. I'm having a conceptual problem about
the best way to structure (no pun intended) the patch hierarchy.
What I have are:
For each drum .. one kit sample (kick, snare, HH, etc. with individual mics (sometimes
two .. kick in / kick out ... snare top / snare btm. etc), OH mics and Room mics.
I've approached this as:
1 "Part" patch .. single note zones for each of the instruments
1 "Room" patch .. single note zones for each of the room tones for each instrument.
1 "OH" patch .. single note zones for each of the OH tones for each instrument.
So when C4 is triggered, the Kick inside, Kick outside, Room and OH samples all fire simultaneously.
All accept input from midi A1
Each have individual bus outputs (so direct, room and OH can be mixed independently).
Is this the best way to do it?
I noticed the Structure "built-in" patches have a single patch the seems to marry all
of this together .. but I'm at a loss for how they've done this.
Any help would be appreciated .. I know samplers in general pretty well but
this seems like fairly advanced usage to me and I'm struggling to figure out how
to do the mapping.
Thanks in advance!
jeff
