52nd Grammies

I will be watching though.

To me, I have mixed feelings about them, I am always hopeful to see the nomination list and find a nugget or two of music I have not heard before.

I don't mean to start a "rant", but what do people here in general think of the current Grammies, ie how they vote for the final 5 nominees?

I voted for the first time, and voted according only to what I have actually listened to, not allowing any bias. If I did not listen to a category, I did not vote on it.

Since an album I mixed is up for Bluegrass Album of the Year, I did go out and buy the other 4 nominees, to get an idea of why they and our records were voted on. In this category I think it still came down to the talent more than the flashiness or glossiness of the production. All of them were pretty straight forward engineering wise and production wise, IMO.
